Your Mac

Your Mac, from anywhere

Left something open at home? Pally can look at your Mac's screen, find the file, and run the next step you ask for.

You: i left something open at home, what's on my mac right now?
Pally: taking a look at your screen.
Pally: you're on the budget keynote, slide 12. Notion and nine Chrome tabs are open behind it.
You: export it as a pdf and email it to marco
Pally: exporting the Keynote to PDF and emailing it to marco@acme.com.
Pally: done. email's off to Marco.

The routine

How it works

MMac

With the Pally Mac app installed, your computer stops being somewhere you have to be. Pally can see the screen, check what's running, reach files in folders you've granted, and take the next step in your apps. Looking never needs a sign-off, and a step you ask for just runs.

  1. Install the Pally Mac app (macOS 13 or later) and grant what Pally may reach: the screen, specific folders, your Photos library, or terminal control.
  2. Ask what's on the screen, whether the export finished, or for a file from a granted folder.
  3. Ask for a step and Pally runs it, then reports the real result.
The full routine

Install the Pally Mac app (macOS 13 or later) and grant what Pally may reach: the screen, specific folders, your Photos library, or terminal control. You can revoke any grant.

Ask what's on the screen, whether the export finished, or for a file from a granted folder. Looking and reading change nothing, so they never need a sign-off.

Ask for a step and Pally runs it, then reports the real result. A change you didn't ask for, like a risky command, comes to you first.

Good for

  • Checking what you left open before heading home
  • Finding a file on your Mac and getting it sent to you
  • Running a command without opening a remote desktop app
  • Confirming a long job finished while you're out
  • Pulling a photo from your Apple Photos library into the chat

Things to try

You: what's on my mac screen right now?
You: is that video export still running?
You: find the offer letter pdf in my documents folder and email it to me
You: quit the apps i left open and put the mac to sleep

Before you start

Common questions

What do I need to set up first?

The Pally Mac app on a Mac running macOS 13 or later. Grant what you want to use: Screen Recording and Accessibility for the screen, folder access for files, terminal control for commands. Revoke any grant at any time.

Will Pally change things on my Mac without asking?

Only what you ask for. Looking and reading never change anything. A change you didn't ask for, like a risky command, comes to you first.

Does my Mac need to be on?

Yes. If your Mac is asleep or offline, Pally says the step will run when it reconnects, and you can cancel it before then.
