Group chats
Add Pally to the group chat.
Pally sits in your group chat with everyone else. It speaks when someone says its name or replies to one of its messages. The rest of the time it stays quiet and reads along.
Everyone in the group can talk to it. General questions and research are open to all. A personal ask runs in that person's own Pally, on their own accounts and their own usage limit, with approvals handled privately.
One thread and one Pally in it. Behind it, each member's own Pally keeps their accounts and sharing choices private. Pally answers the group with what the requester would want the group to see, and sends the sensitive parts to their private chat.
Setup
How to add Pally
- On iMessage, add Pally's number to an existing group chat. On Telegram, add Pally to the group.
- Pally asks you privately in your own chat first. It joins the group after your yes.
- Then say its name, or reply to one of its messages, to get its attention.
- From your own chat you can also ask Pally to say something in one of your group chats.
Per person
Everyone gets their own Pally
A personal ask never runs on someone else's accounts. A member who uses Pally gets their own connected apps, on their own usage limit, and every approval happens privately in their own chat, never in the group.
Asking about another member's data goes through that member's own Pally. It answers under what that person chose to share, or asks them privately once.

Privacy
What the group sees
- Answers in the group show only what the requester would want the whole group to see: free and busy instead of meeting titles, a summary instead of raw email.
- Sensitive results go to your private chat with a short pointer in the group, like "sent you the details".
- Each member decides what their Pally may share with the group. The default is minimal: free and busy, name, role, profile links, and general area.
- Say "share my calendar with this group" or "stop sharing" and it applies at once.
The group
Group memory and vibe
Pally keeps the group's decisions, plans, running jokes, and open loops. Group memory holds only what the group itself said. Private notes never enter it.
It also reads the room. Replies match the group's energy and inside jokes. It plays games, does roasts and memes, ranks things, and makes images on the first ask. It reacts to messages too.
- Pally can create images, send files, and deliver generated videos and songs, either in the thread or privately to you.
- Send a PDF into the group and Pally can read it for everyone, including scanned documents.
Automations
Scheduled posts
Anyone in the group can set up a scheduled post into the group: a standup, a reminder, a weekly plan. Members can pause it, stop it, or take it over.
A scheduled post that needs your own accounts runs in your own Pally and posts only into the group.
Limits
What stays out of a group
- Payment wallets, site sign-ins, and the live browser view stay private and are never exposed in a group.
- In a group, Pally uses only your general area, never your exact address.
Everything else matches private chat. Pally in group chats has the same toolkit, under the privacy rules above.
Compare
Group chats vs your trusted Pally network
A group chat is one real thread where Pally sits with everyone. Use it for one plan with several people, now: the birthday dinner, the bachelor party, Saturday's five-a-side.
Your trusted Pally network is for the people you plan with all the time: your partner, close friends, colleagues. There is no shared thread. Your Pally works privately with theirs, under what each person chose to share, and each of you hears back in your own chat.
Get started
Three texts to send the group
- Ask for the group
- You: pally, who's free saturday?
- Schedule a post
- You: pally, post a standup here every weekday at 9
- Play with it
- You: pally, rank us by who's most likely to be late
Friends can join Pally right from a group chat. Once they start using it, they and the person who added Pally to the group each get a usage limit reset.
Privacy
Sharing is per member
A group never widens what your Pally may read or do on its own. Read the Pally privacy policy.
