Todo catcher
Every "can you…" buried in a busy thread becomes a task Pally tracks. Nothing slips.
The routine
How it works
Commitments hide in group chats. Point Pally at a thread and everything you agree to becomes a tracked task, with check-ins that know done from forgotten.
- Point Pally at the Slack channel or iMessage thread where work keeps getting assigned (iMessage needs the Pally Mac app).
- Each promise becomes a task with its due date and context.
- Mark something done by replying, or ask Pally to handle the next step.
The full routine
Point Pally at the Slack channel or iMessage thread where work keeps getting assigned (iMessage needs the Pally Mac app). It catches anything with your name on it, including the casual 'can you send this'.
Each promise becomes a task with its due date and context. Ask what's open any time, and Pally checks in on anything that looks forgotten.
Mark something done by replying, or ask Pally to handle the next step. Tell it to send a message and it sends; ask for a draft and you see it first.
Good for
- Launch threads where requests arrive between updates
- Promises you make quickly from your phone
- Finding every open item before a weekly check-in
- Keeping due dates attached to casual asks
- Closing tasks without maintaining a separate list by hand

Common questions
Which conversations can todo catcher watch?
Slack channels, and iMessage threads through the Pally Mac app. Name the conversation and what counts as your task; stop the watch when the project ends.
How does Pally know a task is mine?
It looks for direct requests, your name, and things you agree to do. If an item is wrong, correct the owner or wording with a reply.
What happens when I finish something?
Tell Pally it's done and it leaves the open list. Ask Pally to finish a message-based task and it sends, or shows you a draft first if you ask.
