Pre-meeting briefs

Walk in knowing who's in the room, your history, and what's still open, without doing the homework.

Before a meeting with someone outside your world, pally sends who's there, your history with them, anything still open between you, plus fresh news like a funding round or a new role, checked just before you walk in.

The routine

How it works

Tell pally which Calendar meetings deserve a brief and how far ahead you want it. You can focus on people outside your team, a particular customer, or any meeting where walking in cold would slow you down. The rule can stay broad, because the details come from the meeting itself.

Before each matching event, pally checks the attendee and company context available in your CRM, then looks through Gmail for the history that matters now. It brings together earlier conversations, promises, unresolved questions, and the last material you exchanged instead of giving you a generic profile.

Fresh context belongs beside that history. Pally can check for a recent role change, company announcement, or other timely development before the meeting and include it when it helps. The brief lands shortly before you join, with enough detail to orient you without becoming more homework.

Treat the brief as a working thread. Ask pally to pull up the pricing conversation, explain an open item, or get a follow-up draft ready for after the call. If the meeting moves on your Calendar, the preparation follows the event rather than arriving against an old time.

A useful fit

  • External meetings with people you have met before
  • Customer conversations with promises still outstanding
  • Reconnecting after a long gap between calls
  • Remembering the last document or proposal you shared

Common questions

What goes into a pre-meeting brief?+

Pally can combine the event and attendees from Calendar with relevant relationship context from your CRM and prior Gmail conversations. It concentrates on useful history, open commitments, and timely changes rather than repeating every old interaction.

Can I limit which meetings get a brief?+

Yes. Describe the meetings that matter, such as calls with people outside your team or events tied to one account. You can narrow or widen that rule later, and choose how early the note should arrive.

What if pally finds an email I want to act on?+

Reply in the brief thread and ask for the email context or a draft for the next step. Before a Gmail message goes out, pally asks you to approve the exact wording it prepared.
