Pally vs Muse
Meta's agent lives in its own app and in WhatsApp. Pally lives in the texts you already send.
Checked October 11, 2026 · Muse launched on September 8, 2026 and is in limited testing in the US and Canada, on the web, iOS, Android, and WhatsApp. See their site for the latest.
So, Muse or Pally?

The case for Muse
Pick Muse if you want an agent in its own app or a WhatsApp thread, with a careful sandbox around it, and you're in the US or Canada. The Secure VM, the Sentinel reviewer, and the Link checkout are good engineering, and it's the one assistant that reads your Instagram DMs.
The case for Pally
Pick Pally if you want the assistant in iMessage, RCS, or Telegram, or on a phone call. Pally reads your WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and X inboxes, makes calls for you, answers a number you hand out, and joins your group chats. It connects Apple apps and any MCP server, never sells your data, and works outside North America.

Where Muse shines.
A sandbox built for an agent with hands
Every run happens inside the Muse Secure VM, a dedicated cloud computer with its own browser, and a separate Sentinel agent watches what Muse does there. Meta says Muse never holds your passwords or payment methods. That is a thoughtful answer to the hardest question in this category.
Checkout with real protections
Muse pays through Link by Stripe, which Meta says makes it the first AI agent covered by Link's purchase protections, using a one-time card minted after you approve. If an agent is going to spend your money, that's the shape you want it to take.
Instagram DMs
Muse manages your Instagram DMs as well as your email, and your iMessage through its Mac app. No other assistant we compare reads Instagram, and Pally doesn't.
Its own apps, and WhatsApp
Muse has iOS and Android apps and a web app, and it chats inside WhatsApp, which is already on billions of phones. Pally has no app; it lives in your texts. Meta's AI glasses are listed as coming soon.
What each one costs.

Muse
Free · $20/mo Power · $100/mo Max
Meta's Help Center lists a Power plan at $20 a month with 500M Muse tokens per week, and a Max plan at $100 a month with 3B Muse tokens per week. "Muse is available for free with a usage limit." Paid tiers buy more usage, not extra features. The same page says Muse and its subscriptions are in limited testing and aren't available everywhere yet.
Pally
Free
Pally is free, with almost unlimited usage limits. No waitlist or invitation. Cloud Mac is a paid add-on. Every connection, every automation, calls, and its own number and email.
Switching from Muse.
Pally's setup is texting a number, and connecting accounts is tapping a link it sends you. No account to create first.
Connect your email and calendar first
Gmail, Outlook, or iCloud Mail, and your calendars. Pally flags what needs you, summarizes the rest, and checks availability, books and moves events.
Then add the rest
Slack, Notion, Linear, GitHub, Drive, your own WhatsApp, your bank, and your own MCP servers. Save logins to its password vault and Pally runs web errands in a browser with them. Add it to group chats, with per-capability grants controlling what it shares from your accounts.
What carries over
Your accounts: Pally works from the email, calendars, and apps you already use. It remembers the people in your life and what matters to them, and you can browse and edit that memory in its web dashboard.
Pally vs Muse FAQ.
What is Muse?
Meta launched Muse on September 8, 2026. It sends email, books dinners and whole trips, fills in forms, and buys things, and it keeps working after you close the app. Meta says Muse holds none of your passwords or payment methods, and that your conversations and its VM data aren't shared with Meta's ad systems.
What does Muse cost?
Muse is free with a usage limit. Meta's Help Center lists a Power plan at $20 a month with 500M Muse tokens per week and a Max plan at $100 a month with 3B Muse tokens per week. The plans buy usage, not features. Pally is free, with almost unlimited usage limits.
Can I use Muse outside the US?
Only in Canada so far. Muse is available to adults in the US and Canada, and Meta's Help Center says Muse and its subscriptions are in limited testing and aren't available in all locations. Pally works in the US and internationally.
Can Muse text me the way Pally does?
Not in your phone's messages app. You talk to Muse in its iOS, Android, and web apps, or inside WhatsApp, and Meta has announced a Muse email address. Pally has no app: you text it in iMessage, RCS, or Telegram, email it, call it, or reach it from ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI tools.
Can Muse make phone calls or join group chats?
Calls are in beta. TechCrunch reports Muse is testing outbound calls to US businesses, offered first to users who ask for them. Meta doesn't say Muse joins group chats or answers calls for you. Pally calls businesses and people for you, waits on hold, and gets through phone menus. It also gives you a number to hand out: Pally picks up, handles the call, and tells you what happened. And you can add Pally to any group chat.
Who runs the browser when Muse or Pally does an errand?
Muse runs errands in Meta's Secure VM, on Meta's infrastructure, and pays through Link by Stripe. Pally runs web errands in a browser with the logins you save to its password vault, and pays through your connected payment wallet or the card saved on your store account. Both designs are defensible. Which company you want holding that session is a real decision, not a detail.
How do Muse and Pally handle my data?
Muse trains on your conversations by default, and the data from your connectors falls under the same switch in Data controls. Pally never trains on your connected accounts. It trains on your conversations by default, and you can turn that off in settings. Both encrypt your data and let you view, edit, and delete it. Pally never sells your data and takes no paid placement. Muse's connectors may return labeled sponsored results.
Which is better, Pally or Muse?
Muse fits people in the US or Canada who want a WhatsApp chat or Instagram DM access; it has a free usage limit, with Power at $20 a month for more tokens. Pally is free and fits iMessage, RCS, or Telegram texting plus calls it makes and takes.
So how does Pally make money?
Pally plans to earn a fee from merchants when you buy through it. Merchants can never pay to change what Pally recommends to you. Cloud Mac, an optional add-on, is paid.
