Where Martin shines.

Ask it from Slack and WhatsApp

Martin takes requests in Slack and WhatsApp as well as by text, phone and email. If your workday already runs in Slack, you can ask your assistant there without switching apps.

Voice at the center

Voice mode, phone access and an alarm that calls you and talks to you. If you want to speak to your assistant as often as you text it, Martin treats voice as a first-class feature.

An app to anchor it

Some people want to see their assistant: settings, history, controls, one icon to tap. Martin's iOS app gives the relationship a visible home that a text thread can't.

Scheduling where the thread already is

Copy Martin on an email thread and it schedules the meeting there. With calendar autopilot, inbox drafts and labels on Pro, Martin covers the classic executive-assistant jobs thoroughly.

What each one costs.

Martin

$35/mo$49/mo Pro

Martin's Basic plan is $35 a month, or $21 a month billed yearly. Pro is $49 a month, or $30 a month billed yearly, and adds alarm calls, email triage, proactive drafts and cc-to-schedule. Every plan starts with a seven-day free trial, and there's no free tier after it.

Pally

Free

Pally is free, with almost unlimited usage limits. No waitlist or invitation. Cloud Mac is a paid add-on. Every connection, every automation, calls, and its own number and email.

Switching from Martin.

Pally's setup is texting a number, and connecting accounts is tapping a link it sends you. No account to create first.

  1. Connect your email and calendar first

Gmail, Outlook, or iCloud Mail, and your calendars. Pally flags what needs you, summarizes the rest, and checks availability, books and moves events.

  2. Then add the rest

Slack, Notion, Linear, GitHub, Drive, your own WhatsApp, your bank, and your own MCP servers. Save logins to its password vault and Pally runs web errands in a browser with them. Add it to group chats, with per-capability grants controlling what it shares from your accounts.

  3. What carries over

Your accounts: Pally works from the email, calendars, and apps you already use. It remembers the people in your life and what matters to them, and you can browse and edit that memory in its web dashboard.

Pally vs Martin FAQ.

Can Martin and Pally both handle phone calls?

Both make calls for you, and you can call both. Martin says it calls your contacts on your behalf. Pally calls businesses and people, waits on hold and gets through phone menus. Only Pally takes calls for you: give out its number, and Pally picks up, handles the call and tells you what happened.

Does Martin have a free plan?

Martin has a seven-day free trial, then Basic at $35 a month or Pro at $49 a month, less when billed yearly. Pally is free, with almost unlimited usage limits and no trial period.

Can I message Pally on Slack, like Martin?

Not in Slack. Martin takes messages in Slack and WhatsApp. You message Pally in iMessage, RCS, Telegram, by email or by phone, or from ChatGPT, Claude and other AI tools. Both manage your Slack once you connect it, and Pally also manages your WhatsApp inbox, which Martin doesn't say it can.

Which is better if I don't want another app?

Pally. There's nothing to install: everything happens in your texts, with a web dashboard for connections and memory. Martin works over text too, but its voice mode, notifications and settings live in its iOS app.

Which is better, Pally or Martin?

Martin fits people who want a native app, Slack, and meeting tools; Basic is $35 a month after a seven-day trial. Pally is free and fits broader inbox management, checkout, and a number that answers calls for you.

So how does Pally make money?

Pally plans to earn a fee from merchants when you buy through it. Merchants can never pay to change what Pally recommends to you. Cloud Mac, an optional add-on, is paid.
