So, Instinct or Pally?

The case for Instinct

Pick Instinct if you have an invitation and want one message to cover bookings, purchases, cancellations, and bill disputes. Its Trusted Person network connects it to the assistants of people you trust. Phone calls and group chats are still in early access.

The case for Pally

Pick Pally if you want it today, with no waitlist. Pally reads your WhatsApp, iMessage, LinkedIn, and X inboxes, makes calls for you, and gives you a number to hand out that it answers itself. It joins your group chats and connects Apple apps, your bank, and any MCP server. It never trains on your connected accounts.

Where Instinct shines.

Errands with real reach

Instinct books trips, classes, appointments, and restaurants, and it can use your loyalty points when it plans travel. It buys with one-time cards through Stripe Link, so your own card number stays out of the errand.

Message it on WhatsApp

You can text Instinct in iMessage or WhatsApp, call it, or forward email to its own address. If WhatsApp is where you live, Instinct meets you there.

Agents that talk to each other

Instinct's Trusted Person network, now open to all users, connects your assistant with the assistants of people you trust. It's an early look at agents that work things out with each other on your behalf.

A persistent cloud computer

Instinct runs on a cloud computer and stays signed in to connected services with stored credentials, so it can carry out work across accounts without a device in front of you.

What each one costs.

Instinct

Free

Instinct is free. Access to its closed beta starts with a waitlist, and its terms say some features may require fees.

Pally

Free

Pally is free, with almost unlimited usage limits. No waitlist or invitation. Cloud Mac is a paid add-on. Every connection, every automation, calls, and its own number and email.

Switching from Instinct.

Pally's setup is texting a number, and connecting accounts is tapping a link it sends you. No account to create first.

  1. Connect your email and calendar first

Gmail, Outlook, or iCloud Mail, and your calendars. Pally flags what needs you, summarizes the rest, and checks availability, books and moves events.

  2. Then add the rest

Slack, Notion, Linear, GitHub, Drive, your own WhatsApp, your bank, and your own MCP servers. Save logins to its password vault and Pally runs web errands in a browser with them. Add it to group chats, with per-capability grants controlling what it shares from your accounts.

  3. What carries over

Your accounts: Pally works from the email, calendars, and apps you already use. It remembers the people in your life and what matters to them, and you can browse and edit that memory in its web dashboard.

Pally vs Instinct FAQ.

What is Instinct?

Instinct is a personal AI assistant from San Francisco-based Spear Street Technology. You text it in iMessage or WhatsApp, call it, or forward email to its own address. It connects your email, calendar, and accounts to handle errands and correspondence. It raised a Series C at a $10 billion valuation in September 2026.

How much does Instinct cost?

Instinct is free. Access to its closed beta starts with a waitlist, and its terms say some features may require fees. Pally is free too, with almost unlimited usage limits, and has no waitlist.

Can Instinct make calls or join group chats?

Both are in early access. Instinct Concierge, its calling service, is rolling out to early access users, and group chats are open to early access users with a wider rollout announced. Pally makes calls for everyone, waits on hold, and gets through phone menus. It also gives you a number to hand out: Pally picks up, handles the call, and tells you what happened. And you can add Pally to any group chat.

Which inboxes can each one read?

Both manage your email, calendar, and Slack. Instinct doesn't say it reads your WhatsApp, iMessage, LinkedIn, or X messages. Pally reads all four, with its Mac app for iMessage, LinkedIn, and X, and flags what needs you.

How do Instinct and Pally handle connected data?

Instinct trains AI models on your data unless you opt out in settings, though it never trains on Google Workspace data or on what you store in its Vault. Its terms at https://instinct.com/terms also say it "may still use the indexed" data after you disconnect a service, unless you request deletion. Pally never trains on your connected accounts. It trains on your conversations by default, and you can turn that off in settings. Neither sells your data. Pally lets you view, edit, and delete what it holds, and its privacy policy describes verified account-data deletion.

Which is better, Pally or Instinct?

Instinct fits someone with a closed-beta invitation who wants its Trusted Person network; the service is free for now. Pally is free without a waitlist and fits inbox management and calls it both makes and takes.

So how does Pally make money?

Pally plans to earn a fee from merchants when you buy through it. Merchants can never pay to change what Pally recommends to you. Cloud Mac, an optional add-on, is paid.
